BACKGROUND INFORMATION – VENETIAN PLASTERING
Italian polished plaster is a durable, beautiful finish made mainly out of marble dust and lime which has been used extensively throughout history.
Commonly known as Venetian plaster, Venetian polished plaster, Marmorino, and Stucco lustro Veneziano, it was first used by the ancient Egyptians, the Romans, and especially during the renaissance period where it was often used as a background for frescoes.
The Venetians fully embraced this beautiful finish and used it in abundance, hence the use of the name Venetian polished plaster, which is still in use today.
Currently this finish is extremely fashionable and is much used by top architects and designers, it is very versatile, and can be applied to be smooth, grainy, with a high gloss or matt, left natural or sealed and waxed, it is repairable, environmentally friendly & there are products for interior or exterior usage.
Polished plaster is durable and suitable for every room in the house: kitchens, bathrooms, wetrooms, feature walls, swimming pool walls, hallways, doors, columns, etc. With this Venetian plastering course you have the opportunity of learning how to apply this timeless Venetian finish!
